Here are the Mungo Jerry Christmas Videos, known as ‘Five For Christmas’ from 2022.
They were originally on our news page but we think that they were deserving of a permanent page of their own.
The five are – Coming Home For Christmas, Christmas Tree, Christmas In The Country, The Wonder Of Christmas and We Three Kings.
Some of them were discovered by Derek who explained, “These Christmas songs I found when going through an old hard drive and hidden away in an obscure titled folder.
“Ray had forgotten about the songs also but remembers being asked to provide a couple of demos for an emerging female country artist in Scandinavia and as far as he is aware nothing was released.”
The videos have been produced by our friend, based in New Jersey in the United States, Marc Viscel, as is the Christmas message located above.
My particular favourite is We Three Kings, that sounds a little like Steeleye Span in places. Even, a little Greg Lake perhaps?
They weren’t ready in time for an assault on the Heritage Chart in 2022, but in 2023 – who knows?
Christmas In The Country, is a song that features Ray solo on vocals, acoustic guitar, and blues harp.
Ray told us that, “These are for fun and promo. Love and God bless”.
